Vestel recognized as one of “Türkiye’s innovation champions”
Vestel Beyaz Eşya received the first prize in the “Innovation Cycle” category at the İnovaLİG program, which is part of Türkiye Innovation Week and organized by the Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM). The award ceremony for İnovaLİG took place at the Haliç Congress Center on November 24, where the ranked companies were presented with their awards. Ergün Güler, Chairman of the Executive Board of Vestel Group of Companies and CEO of Vestel, accepted the award on behalf of Vestel from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the award ceremony. Güler expressed his happiness and pride as a company pioneering Türkiye’s technology, being honored with such a meaningful award. Güler emphasized that being the sector champion for a quarter of a century is a testament to their commitment, and they will persist in developing products with an innovative approach in the coming period.

MZV-MEF Yetgen Summit, eagerly awaited by the youth, takes place at Zorlu PSM
The MZV-MEF YetGen Summit, supported by the Mehmet Zorlu Foundation (MZF) and MEF University and led by Prof. Erhan Erkut , the Founder of YetGen, took place at the Zorlu Performing Arts Center on November 19. The summit, held free of charge for eight years, garnered significant interest from young participants. The event, like the training program, was broadcast live on YouTube, reaching a substantial audience of young individuals. Since 2015, almost 11 thousand students have engaged in the program, which was organized under the theme “Inspiration from the past, hope for the future” to mark the 100th anniversary of the Republic this year. In total, 15 thousand students have taken part in the summits conducted thus far. Olgun Zorlu, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Zorlu Holding, emphasized that the Mehmet Zorlu Foundation has been a supporter and stakeholder of the YetGen program since 2015, adding that the program holds great value for them.

Zorlu Tekstil publishes Sustainability Report
Zorlu Tekstil has published its sustainability report, which has been approved by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). The purpose of sustainability reporting is to systematically and transparently manage the environmental, social, economic, and governance impacts within an organization’s activities in a more comprehensive and transparent manner. The report provides a holistic analysis of the corporate value and brand reputation established by Zorlu Textiles Group. It encompasses the activities conducted from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2022, highlighting the impact of Zorlu Textiles Group’s working principles and corporate policies on stakeholders under the “Sustainability” framework. The report aligns Zorlu Textiles Group’s activities and objectives with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, while considering the requirements of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Two accolades for Zorlu Enerji at the 10th ICCI Energy Awards
Industry professionals came together at the ICCI Energy Award Ceremony, honoring Türkiye’s prominent companies in the energy sector. The ICCI 2023 Energy Awards recognized outstanding achievements in nine categories, including Renewable Power Plants, Hybrid Power Plants, Cogeneration Power Plants, Innovative Technologies, Local Technology Producers, and Hydrogen Technologies. Zorlu Enerji was honored with an award in the “Hybrid Power Plants” category for its “Alaşehir GPP & SPP” project, and ZES Solar secured the “Best Equipment” award within the same category at the ICCI 2023 Energy Awards. The “Alaşehir GPP & GES” project, combining geothermal and solar energy, represents a pioneering initiative in the energy sector.

Vestel Call Center secures first place at Golden Headset Awards
Vestel Call Center secured the top position in this year’s 6th Golden Headset Awards, hosted by the Customer Experience Management and Technologies Association. This year’s program assessed call center employees in three categories: “Most Heart-Warming Customer Experience Story”, “I Love This Job Because..”, and “How Do You Get Your Groove On?”. This year, Vestel Call Center secured the top position in the “Most Heart-Warming Customer Experience Story” category of the competition, which is open to applications from all call center customer representatives. Simge Pirinççi, a Customer Representative at Vestel Call Center, claimed the first prize in the category where participants shared their stories of making a difference in customer experience and receiving recognition.

Zorlu Holding hosts civil society organizations on International Volunteer Day
Zorlu Holding, recognizing social support activities as a significant aspect of its corporate culture, welcomed six non-governmental organizations involved in its Corporate Volunteering Program, the Kıvılcımlar (“Sparks”) Movement, at its Levent 199 building on December 5, International Volunteer Day. On this significant day, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Market was established at Levent 199, featuring booths from various organizations such as the Bilim Kahramanları (Heroes of Science) Association, Hope Foundation for Children with Cancer (KAÇUV), Parıltı Association for Supporting Visually-Impaired Children, Tüvana Foundation for the Education of Willing Children (TOÇEV), Down Syndrome Association of Türkiye, and the Spinal Cord Paralytics Association of Türkiye (TOFD). During this special day, which coincided with the 5th anniversary of the Kıvılcımlar (“Sparks) Movement, award ceremonies were conducted at Levent 199 and Vestel City. At the ceremonies, 32 “Sparks” who dedicated a minimum of five days over the course of five years to volunteer work, transforming it into social benefit, were honored with plaques. On December 5, a Wikimarathon took place with the aim of creating a “Corporate Volunteering” page on Wikipedia. This initiative seeks to promote corporate volunteering and establish an accessible and enduring resource for everyone.

Zorlu Enerji CEO Sinan Ak evaluates new era energy policies at the 13th Energy Summit
The 13th Energy Summit, a platform for discussing current issues in the energy sector, showcasing company products and new technologies, and welcoming guests from various sectors, took place in Ankara from November 27 to 29. Zorlu Enerji CEO Sinan Ak participated in the summit and was featured as a guest on A Para, where he addressed various questions. Ak emphasized that nearly half of Türkiye’s energy consumption comes from renewable sources, highlighting a significant breakthrough in the country’s energy landscape for the future. Noting the substantial transformation in the electric vehicle sector in Türkiye, Ak expressed expectations for approximately 200 thousand electric vehicles to be on the roads by 2024. Sinan Ak highlighted that energy storage is a crucial aspect of the ongoing transformation in the energy sector.

Zorlu Holding’s Smart Life Meetings delve into COP28 summit’s agenda
In December, the Smart Life Meetings, organized for Zorlu Group employees with the vision of Smart Life 2030, featured guests Barış Doğru, Editor-in-Chief of EkoIQ and İklim Haber, and writer Didem Eryar Ünlü, Coordinator and Sustainability Editor at NB Ekonomi Newspaper. The sessions provided insights from experts in their respective fields. During the meeting, participants discussed and evaluated the discussions and outcomes of the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change held in Dubai. The experts delved into the topics discussed, decisions made, and the latest developments pertaining to the global struggle against climate change. The guests also provided their insights on Türkiye’s initiatives and actions regarding climate change that were unveiled during the summit.

Lentatek draws strong attention at Defense & Security exhibition
Lentatek showcased its products and capabilities at Defense & Security 2023, a prominent defense industry exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region. The event took place in Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand, from November 6 to 9, with representatives from 45 countries participating. Lentatek receives Climate Technologies Award from the Turkish Technology Development Foundation
The TTGV Awards, organized by the Technology Development Foundation of Türkiye (TTGV) to recognize and encourage the work of young technology professionals, were presented to the recipients. Lentatek received the Dr. Fikret Yücel Pioneer Organization Award at TTGV’s Climate Technologies Awards for its outstanding R&D efforts in the field of Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies. Lentatek General Manager Öner Tekin accepted the award on behalf of the company. The Technology Development Foundation of Türkiye (TTGV) annually presents awards to individuals and organizations that are pioneers of change in their respective areas of focus, as part of their efforts to support technology development and innovation activities within the private sector in Türkiye. TTGV’s awards this year were centered around climate technologies, recognizing and honoring researchers, organizations, civil society initiatives, and leaders who have pioneered change in this field.

Ayesaş showcases product line during TUR Industry Day at NATO Staff Centre
Ayesaş, a leading system supplier in the Turkish Defense Industry, participated in the TUR Industry Day held at the NATO Staff Centre in Brussels. Meta Nikel takes part in Critical Raw Materials and Battery Recycling Conference
Meta Nikel’s strategic collaborations and successful completion of R&D projects have elevated the company to a leading position in the sector. Executives from Meta Nikel contribute to the sector’s development by sharing the experiences gained by the company. Meta Nikel Kobalt, the only plant in the northern hemisphere employing state-of-the-art technology for nickel cobalt production, took part in the Critical Raw Materials and Battery Recycling Conference organized in collaboration with the German-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Exitcom Recycling. During the conference, Meta Nikel’s R&D Group Manager, Nuray Demirel, not only participated as a speaker but also served as a moderator. “Sparks” run in the 45th İstanbul Marathon to support children who lost their families in the earthquakes
Organized with the slogan “The Run of the Centennial” in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Republic, the İşbank İstanbul Marathon marked its 45th edition, bringing together tens of thousands of participants to unite the continents. Volunteer runners from the Kıvılcımlar (“Sparks”) Movement, Zorlu Group's Corporate Volunteering Program, also participated in the marathon. Throughout the marathon, the Kıvılcımlar (“Sparks”) Movement actively supported Darüşşafaka’s “Education is on Us, Home is on You!” campaign, aiming to provide quality education to students who lost their families in the earthquake zone. Kıvılcımlar (“Sparks”) performed exceptionally well, securing the position of the “3rd donor with the highest donation amount and number of donors” in the category of corporate running teams supporting the campaign. Kıvılcımlar (“Sparks”) were honored with an award for their outstanding achievements and expressed their joy at being able to extend a helping hand to children in need in the earthquake region.

Zorlu PSM’s “My First Theater Play, My First Concert” initiative promotes culture and arts accessibility
Zorlu PSM continues to launch various projects to ensure the participation of people from all segments of society in art events. In this context, Zorlu PSM is implementing the “My First Theater Play, My First Concert” project, which was launched last year, in partnership with SosyalBen and the Turkish Education Foundation (TEV), with the motto “The Stage Belongs to Us All”. With this project, adults and children living in disadvantaged areas of İstanbul, who have never been to a concert or theater play before, continue to be hosted at Zorlu PSM to experience the cultural events. Making a statement on the subject, Zorlu PSM General Manager Filiz Ova mentioned that they act with a sense of social responsibility and aim to bring more than 15 thousand people together with culture and arts by 2030, and that they plan to expand the project beyond İstanbul to cover the whole country.
