Transition in leadership at Vestel
Turan Erdoğan, who has served in significant roles and carried important responsibilities at Vestel Group of Companies for 35 years, including his tenure as CEO for the past decade, passed on his role to Vestel Ticaret A.Ş. CEO Ergün Güler on September 1. Mr. Erdoğan, who will assume the role of Chief Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vestel, will continue to make valuable contributions to the company in his new capacity. He emphasized that during his tenure at Vestel, his goal was to foster the development of both Türkiye and the industry, and expressed confidence that Mr. Güler, with his wealth of knowledge and experience, will lead the company to further achievements. Vestel CEO Ergün Güler shared that he had the privilege of working closely with Turan Erdoğan during his 24-year tenure at Vestel, and expressed his satisfaction at taking over the role from someone as significant and well-respected in the industry as Turan Erdoğan.

Zorluteks and Korteks make the list in Türkiye R&D Top 250 Survey!
The “Turkishtime Türkiye R&D Top 250 Survey,” with the goal of establishing an R&D database in Türkiye, has compiled the R&D performance of Turkish companies based on data from 2022. In the report published in both English and Turkish, Zorluteks and Korteks were ranked 147th and 216th, respectively, establishing their positions as some of Türkiye’s most extensive R&D centers. Additionally, Zorluteks achieved the 26th position in the “Türkiye Women’s Employment Top 50” category, highlighting its dedicated initiatives towards promoting women’s employment. The study assessing Türkiye’s R&D performance in 2022 revealed that the 500 companies included in the research more than doubled their R&D investments compared to the previous year, reaching a total of TL 52,958 billion.

Zorlu Enerji obtains preliminary licenses for WPP with energy storage
Zorlu Enerji, which currently generates 100% of its electricity in Türkiye from renewable energy sources, will add its first electricity generation facility with storage to its portfolio with the Yeniçiftlik WPP it will establish in Tekirdağ and the Hamitabat WPP it will establish in Kırklareli. With these preliminary licenses, Zorlu Enerji is set to reach a total capacity of 375 MWe of wind power with storage through its planned investments. Ali Kındap, Zorlu Enerji’s General Manager of Investments, Operations, and Maintenance, expressed their satisfaction with EMRA’s approval of their preliminary license application. He also highlighted that the energy generated by these two power plants will be sufficient to meet the electricity needs of over 328 thousand households annually, all sourced from renewable energy.

This visually stunning and multimedia-rich performance, which took 18 months to prepare and premiered last season, is now being presented to art enthusiasts at Zorlu PSM in the current season.
“1923” is a collaborative effort between Çolpan İlhan & Sadri Alışık Theater, Piu Entertainment, and Zorlu PSM, with support from Zorlu Holding and its Group companies. It stands as one of the most extensive local musical projects in Turkish theater history, delivering the tale of the National Struggle and the establishment of the Republic to new generations through a captivating stage design and a unique performance. The musical offers the audience a splendid and enchanting voyage through time.

Vestel set to continue its volleyball investments in the new season
Vestel, a prominent supporter of Turkish sports and a symbol of Turkish volleyball over the past seven years, will continue its volleyball investments as the primary sponsor of the Turkish Volleyball Federation in the 2023-2024 season. By extending its sponsorship agreement with the Turkish Volleyball Federation (TVF) for another three years, Vestel is reaffirming its commitment to being a major supporter of Turkish volleyball in the upcoming period. In addition to its ongoing support for the Women’s Volleyball National Team, Vestel will also maintain its role as the jersey sponsor of the Men’s National Team with a chest placement. As part of its investments in volleyball, Vestel has expanded its sponsorship to include the name sponsorship for the TVF Atatürk Volleyball Hall in İzmir, in addition to its existing sponsorship of the TVF Burhan Felek Vestel Volleyball Hall. The TVF Atatürk Volleyball Hall in İzmir will now be officially named the TVF Atatürk Volleyball Hall Vestel Sports Complex.

Zorlu Enerji continues to expand its collection of awards, earning recognition on both national and international platforms. At the Stevie Awards, Zorlu Enerji was honored with multiple awards, including the gold award for its “Earthquake Crisis Management” project, the bronze award for its “Best Technical Support Service” project, and the silver award in the “Customer Service Department of the Year” category for its ZES brand.
In the first half of this year, Zorlu Enerji had received the “Low Carbon Hero” award for the fifth time at the 8th İstanbul Carbon Summit hosted by İstanbul Technical University. During the year, Zorlu Enerji also received the İstanbul Chamber of Industry (İSO) Green Transformation Award in recognition of its sustainability efforts. The company was also recognized as the most reputable brand in the “Energy Generation” sector in a survey conducted by the Turkish Reputation Academy.

Award-winning project Eco Love Fest welcomes enthusiasts of the good life
On September 21-24, Zorlu Center hosted the third Eco Love Fest, an event that was first launched in 2021. Eco Love Fest, the first and most comprehensive sustainability festival held in shopping malls in Türkiye, greeted its attendees this year with a diverse program featuring sustainability discussions with expert speakers, ecological workshops for both children and adults, and the joy of outdoor shopping. OEDAŞ digitalizes solution center, ranks first in customer satisfaction
As part of its “Satisfaction 4.0” project launched in 2021, the electricity distribution company, OEDAŞ, has completely digitalized its infrastructure to swiftly inform consumers through multiple channels in cases of planned outages or necessary field work interruptions. As part of the project, OEDAŞ has expanded its communication channels and built a more adaptable and digital infrastructure. This enables them to quickly identify the region from which consumers are calling and provide them with the necessary information in a timely manner. In addition to the Satisfaction 4.0 project, OEDAŞ has elevated its service quality through various solution-oriented initiatives, resulting in a remarkable increase in consumer satisfaction, which now stands at 87 percent.

The Zorlu Performing Arts Center (PSM) has concluded the application process for the new season of PSM Atölye. This initiative, now in its third season, offers free training to aspiring talents in the field of theater, contributing to the long-term sustainability of the cultural and artistic ecosystem. PSM Atölye, featuring three distinct courses, “Dramatic Writing,” “Theatre Directing,” and “Theatre Production,” is returning this season with the corporate backing of Mey|Diageo. The workshop is open to individuals aged 18-30 and offers training opportunities for amateur and professional directors, producers, and writers. PSM Atölye boasts a team of expert instructors from Türkiye, including accomplished directors, playwrights, and producers, along with guest instructors with international theater experience.

Stevie Gold Award for OEDAŞ’s “Can Dostlar” project
OEDAŞ was honored with the gold award in the category of Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year in Europe at the 20th Stevie International Business Award for its “Can Dostlar” (Best Friends) social responsibility project. Under the project initiated by OEDAŞ in 2021, the company meets the feeding and sheltering needs of stray animals in five cities within its service region, namely Afyonkarahisar, Bilecik, Eskişehir, Kütahya, and Uşak. Additionally, the project provides medical device support to public institutions involved in sterilization, care, and treatment of these animals.
