VESTEL
Vestel blew everyone away at the IFA fair in Germany
The export champion of its sector for 24 years and standing, Vestel introduced its new products at its 3,000 m2 booth at the IFA Consumer Electronics and White Goods fair held in Berlin, the capital of Germany, between September 2-6, 2022. Vestel's cutting edge technology and user-friendly products attracted the attention of the participants. Vestel also participated in the Home Connectivity Alliance (HCA) session at IFA 2022, where it is on the Board of Directors. Speaking at the session, Turan Erdoğan, CEO of Vestel stated that they are keeping fast at their efforts to reduce the impact of the stress on the world's resources and to make the world a better place.
The products and technologies Vestel presented to the participants at IFA are: Vestel Rechargeable Upright Vacuum Cleaner, Electric Vehicle Charger, OLED TV, Mini LED TV, Quantum Dot TV, 8K TV, Philie TV and TV With Me, IMAX® Enhanced, Digital Information Screens: Vestel Prime Plus Series, in-vehicle display solutions, IFX Plus Series displays, the VHuddle application, 120" LED display, Be A Chef digital service, SmokeTech, which is the world's first oven smoking technology, technologies for longer-lasting freshness and comfort in coolers and new generation air conditioners.

Groundbreaking R&D projects from Zorlu Energy
With its R&D investments, Zorlu Energy continues to make a name for itself both in Turkey and around the world by offering its know-how to projects based on international collaborations. Zorlu Energy comes up with solutions to many problems with the R&D projects developed by their own team of engineers. Projects they have realized include: GECO (Geothermal Emission Control) R&D Project, GeoSmart (Smart and Flexible Geothermal Power Plants) R&D Project and JIDEP (Joint Industrial Data Exchange Pipeline) R&D Project.

Zorlu Textile to produce textile products for sustainable cities
Working with the goal to reach net-zero emissions by 2030, Zorlu Textile Group plans to implement many sustainability-oriented innovations, including the production of home textiles for LEED-BREEAM certified sustainable cities, as well as Ecodesign products that reduce carbon footprint by at least 50% by 2025. Zorlu Textile, a textile manufacturer that has completed the "Sustainable Textile Production" certification process and carries on production with the "Made in Green" label, can calculate its carbon and water footprint on a product basis with its online energy tracking system called "Cleaner Production Software".
META NICKEL
Meta Nickel to produce the first lithium ion batteries from domestic raw materials
Working in line with its goals of reducing foreign dependency in raw materials, Meta Nickel Cobalt has started producing lithium ion batteries, a first in Turkey. The pouch-type batteries developed at the R&D center of Metal Nickel Cobalt, a Zorlu Holding subsidiary, are planned to be used in the TOGG project, Turkey's first domestically produced automobile. Commenting on the product, which is expected to meet the raw material needs of the Turkish battery industry, Dr. Orhan Yılmaz, Chairperson of Zorlu Holding Mining Sector, stated that the battery has a performance that can compete with its commercial counterparts and added; "Meta Nickel Cobalt will have an important place in the global industry in the next five years."

"What and How to Do?" brainstorming meeting
RepMan, which conducts reputation research for companies in different contents and formats, held the "Agenda 2022 Brainstorming" meeting. Field specialists attended the event titled “What and How to Do?” Prof. Haluk Gürgen moderated the meeting where Şahika Özcan Ortaç, Assistant General Manager of Zorlu Holding Corporate Communications and Sustainability and Selin Ekşioğlu, Manager of Zorlu Holding Corporate Communications took the floor as speakers. The participants tackled issues such as priorities and strategies of communication professionals regarding the climate crisis, principles of professional cooperation and how communicators can overcome cultural barriers.

Goal 8: “Decent Work and Economic Growth” discussed at the Solutions to Problems Meeting
Solutions to Problems Meetings, organized by the Sustainability Steps Association in partnership with UNDP Turkey and with the support of Zorlu Holding within Smart Life 2030 sustainability approach, continue. The October 11 session of the meeting tackled “Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth”. Social entrepreneurs, non-governmental organizations, public and private institutions came together at the event, where they discussed the content of Goal 8 with a focus on equality, inclusivity, the culture of ethics and the happiness of employees.
